Absentee ballot application due for Velma’s Regular Municipal General Election

DUNCAN — Registered voters in Stephens County must have their absentee ballot application in the hands of the Stephens County Election Board for the April 2 Regular Municipal General Election for the Town of Velma by no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 in order to be processed.

Any registered voter eligible to vote in the election may vote by absentee ballot without stating a reason. Absentee voters may apply in person at the election board office or send their applications by mail, fax or telegraph.

Voters may apply for absentee ballots for the following reasons:

  •  Registered voters who are physically incapacitated and voters who care for physically incapacitated persons who cannot be left unattended.
  •  Registered voters who are confined to nursing homes.
  •  Military personnel, residents of Stephens County living overseas and the spouses and dependents of each group are entitled to vote without being registered.
