Bowen retained to ASCOG Board

DUNCAN —

The Board of Stephens County Commissioners chose to retain District 3 commissioner Dee Bowen to the Association of South Central Governments Board of Trustees.
During Monday’s regular meeting, the commissioners approved a resolution to appoint a member of the Board of Stephens County Commissioners to the ASCOG Board. Bowen said he was willing to stay on the board, and his fellow commissioners agreed.
“I don’t mind doing it,” Bowen said. “It’s a good deal.”
Bowen will serve on the ASCOG Board of Trustees through May 2014. The board meets four times a year.
In other action:
  • The board approved a transfer of appropriations within the general fund.
  • The commissioners approved the county officer monthly reports and the allocation of the Alcoholic Beverage Tax.
  • The cash fund estimate of needs and the request for appropriations were also approved by the board.
  • The board also approved the payment of any purchase orders and the issuance of any blanket purchase orders.
  • Commissioners approved the minutes of the previous meeting, which was March 4.
