DUNCAN —
Several federal and state government positions are open for the filing period, which started statewide Wednesday and will continue until 5 p.m. Friday.
Virtually every state and national position that directly impacts Stephens County is involved, with the exception of the U.S. Senate seat.
Several of the offices represent Stephens County and surrounding areas, as the process moves along to create party primaries for the June 26 election.
Offices filed for on Wednesday that will impact Stephens County were:
* United State Representative, District 4 — Republican: Tom Cole of Moore, Gary D. Caissie of Norman; Democrat: Donna Marie Bebo of Fletcher.
* State Senator, District 31 — Republican: Don Barrington of Lawton.
* State Senator, District 43 — Republican: Clark Southard of Duncan, Corey Brooks of Washington, and Ron Magar of Norman; Democrat: Mike Fullerton of Newcastle.
* State Representative, District 50 — Republican: Dennis Johnson of Duncan.
