DHS Talent Show still set to happen

DUNCAN — Duncan High School’s talent show is still scheduled for today, but Kevin Zinn, teacher, said they will have to play it by ear, because of the possibility of the bad weather that could impact this region.

The first performance is set for 10:40 a.m. and open to all DHS students. The evening performance will be at 7:30 p.m. in the DHS auditorium and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the door for both performances.

The talent show is sponsored by the DHS Junior Class and the DHS Music Department. For information, call Zinn or Heather Allen at the high school 255-0700. If there is a last minute change, that will be posted on The Banner’s website and Facebook page.

Any other event cancellations will also be posted on our website as we receive notification on.

  • Monkeypox must be a joke from above

It’s been over 10 years since I moved out of sporting writing and began writing a column for the editorial page. Every so often this year, I’m rerunning a piece from the first year of the transition. This column first appeared in The Duncan Banner in June 2003.

  • A special day for memories

Father’s Day is a special occasion in my life. Thoughts of my dad surface easily. And lessons he taught seem to be entrenched in the lives of our three sons even though he died before their births.
