Spuds tally $8,000 for Toy Shop

DUNCAN —

Toy Shop had its best year ever for their annual Spud Luncheon, raising about $8,000.
The organization’s staff and volunteers sold all 1,250 tickets, which was about 50 tickets more than last year. Funds brought in by the event in 2012 totaled about $6,800.
“We aren’t sure of the exact amount raised yet but we do know it was the best year ever,” said Lynn Samples, Toy Shop co-chair. “We sold more tickets and had more donated than before, so we’re very happy with it.”
All proceeds from the luncheon go to help Toy Shop provide a good Christmas to children of more than 250 families each year who might not otherwise receive presents.
