The Stephens County District Attorney’s office filed charges for burglary in the first degree against two young Marlow men on Tuesday.
Joseph Lee Lacobon and James Ray Rouse, both of Marlow, were arrested by Marlow Police after officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at 801 N. 4th Street in Marlow.
Marlow officers Mike Wooten, Major Elvis Leroy Walker and Detective Lieutenant Antonio Aguilera were listed in the court affidavit as responding to the scene.
Residents of the house, Matthew Cox and Evan Brown, told Wooten, according to the affidavit filed in district court, that the suspects had kicked in the front door to gain entry to the home. Wooten noted that he found damage to the lock and the door.
Cox and Brown were in the back bedroom closet at the time of the break-in and did not come out until police arrived.
According to the affidavit, the two men said they did know the suspects from the past but were not friends with them and did not give permission for them to enter the home.
Items allegedly stolen from the home included a television, Sony Play Station, an XBox 360 and two blue canvas bags filled with wires and cables. All property was recovered.
An outstanding warrant had been filed Feb. 4 on Rouse for assault and battery. He is scheduled to appear for a misdemeanor docket call at 9 a.m. March 1.
Rouse will also appear with Lacobon for a summary of facts hearing at 2 p.m. March 8 and a preliminary hearing conference at 9 a.m. March 27.
Bonds were set at $35,000. Court orders prohibit the two men charged, from having any contact with either of the victims.
