Young boy dies from crash on Monument Hill Road

DUNCAN —  

A crash late Friday claimed the life of a young Addington boy, Joseph McTee, 12, who was ejected from the vehicle he was riding in.
The accident happened at 10:53 p.m. on Monument Hill Road, 1/10th miles east of County Road N2830, which is on the north side of Addington in Jefferson County. 
The vehicle, a 1196 Toyota Corolla, was being driven by Dylan Sumner, 19, also of Addington and there were two other passengers, Heather McTee, 14, and Briana Covington, 15, of Comanche. 
Joseph McTee was the only passenger ejected from the vehicle in the crash. 
Sumner, Heather McTee and Covington, were all transported to the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, by the Waurika EMS and were treated and released. 
Joseph McTee was also transported to the Jefferson County Hospital and expired at the hospital from massive injuries.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report released Monday, the vehicle was westbound on the dry, gravel road, and was going too fast and hit a washboard, causing its driver to lose control of the car. The car veered off the road to the right, and rolled 2 1/2 times. 
Joseph McTee was the only one not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report, filed by investigating Trooper Nathan Mackey of the Stephens County Detachment. He was assisted by Trooper Larry King. Agencies assisting were Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Waurika Police Department and the Waurika EMS.
