DUNCAN — Amy Lynn Brock of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Kevin Daniel Hon of Charleston, S.C. were united in marriage at 10 a.m. June 13, 2010. The bride is the daughter of Larry and Jan Brock of Empire. She is the granddaughter of Margaret Helton of Empire and the late J.W. Helton and Harvey and Thelma Brock of Empire. The groom is the son of Marcia and Dick Lehman of Norcross, Ga. and Dan Hon of Richmond, Ind.

Nevada Falls and Half Dome provided the backdrop for the ceremony which was at Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park in California. The Rev. Autrey Nassar officiated and the couple was surrounded by their parents, the bride’s brother, John Brock of Empire, and Judy Terry of Tennessee.

Amy wore a blue wedding gown made by her mother. The full length gown had a scooped neck, sleeveless bodice of blue bridal satin. The softly gathered skirt was a blue embroidered sheer over a cream satin underskirt. The dress was accented with a cream sheer wrap. She chose a simple, colorful bouquet of flowers.

Following the ceremony, the wedding party attended a breakfast brunch at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley. The couple spent their wedding trip hiking and enjoying Yosemite Park, Sequoia and King’s Canyon National Parks and the surrounding areas.

The couple will live in Chattanooga, where Amy will join the Geology Department as Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Kevin will continue working as a Geologist for Mala Geosciences.

The newlywed couple will be honored at a come and go reception from 2 to 4 p.m. July 31, at the Empire Community Center.
