Smith — Schneider

VELMA — Smith — Schneider

Casey Jolene Smith, daughter of Rickey and Jamie Smith of Velma, and Rayce Daniel Schneider, son of Rod and Lee Schneider of Marlow, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009. The ceremony was held at Velma Baptist Church in Velma.

The bride’s grandparents are James and Charlene Bunch of Duncan and Allen and Wanda Smith of Duncan. The groom’s grandparents are La Vern Miller of Godley, Texas, the late Johnny Miller and the late Duke and Rosetta Schneider of Fargo.

Pastor Cody Deevers of Velma Baptist Church officiated the ceremony.

Julie Pruitt of Velma played the piano and Lori Deevers sang, “When You Say Nothing At All.” Guitarist Ethan Dulworth of Velma and Madison Dunford of Edmond sang, “It’s All That It Takes.”

The altar was framed with a pair of seven-point wrought iron candelabras adorned with lavish arrangements of Voodoo hybrid tea roses and white marguerite daisies. Sprays in verdigris urns flanked the candelabras and small votives with autumn leaves were scattered throughout the alter. The family unity candles completed the setting. Bridal aisle pews were marked with nosegays of marguerite daisies and white silk organza bows.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown and veil. Styled of silk organza over bridal taffeta, the formal gown was designed with a sweetheart neckline and natural waistline. Lace accents at the shoulders and lantern sleeves trimmed in delicate Schiffli lace, seed pearls and dainty buttons. The ballgown shirt and semi-cathedral train cascaded to the floor in volumes of taffeta overlaid with deep tiers of gathered silk organza bordered in elegant Schiffli lace. The bride wore a blusher and cathedral veil of gossamer illusion hemmed with a wide border of lace. She carried a bouquet of Voodoo tea roses and marguerite daisies interspersed with baby’s breath. The stems were wrapped with white silk ribbon.

Whitney Pruitt of Countyline was the maid of honor. Jinny Melton of Duncan, Lori Deevers of Velma and Telisa Smith, sister-in-law of the bride, were the matrons of honor.

The attendants wore street length sage green matte satin dresses with chocolate brown shrugs. The softly-gathered skirts from the waistline were overlaid with silk organza. They carried a bouquet of Voodoo tea roses.

Cassidy Dunford of Edmond, cousin of the groom, and Katie Taylor of Newalla, cousin of the bride, were the junior bridesmaids.

The flower girls were Krystin Taylor of Newalla and Taylor Norton of Velma, both cousins of the bride.

Nicole Pollock of Duncan, cousin of the bride, was the bell ringer. Asa Pollock of Duncan, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Ryan Schneider of Conway, Ark., brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Drew Williams of Abilene, Texas, Jeremy Whitecotton of Oklahoma City and Charley Smith of Duncan, brother of the bride.

Aaron Slover of Godley, Texas, cousin of the groom, and Ty Dulworth of Velma, were the ushers.

The reception was held at Velma Baptist Church Life Center. Guest book attendants were Madison Dunford of Edmond, cousin of the bride. Reception assistants were the bridal attendants. The bride’s grandmother made the wedding cake.

The rehearsal dinner was held Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at the Chuckwagon Restaurant in Velma. It was hosted by the grooms parents.

A wedding shower was held at Velma Baptist Church Sept. 13. A personal shower was held in the home of the bride’s parents Oct. 10. A bridal breakfast was held in the home of Lori Deevers on the morning of the wedding.

The newlywed couple visited Big Cedar Lodge and Resort on Table Rock Lake, Mo.

The couple established a home in Abilene, Texas.
