  • Neighborly hug ELECTION 2010 UPDATE: Area candidates ‘feel good’ about General Election

    Two hours remain for voters to head to the polls before they close at 7 p.m. in what is considered a historic race for Oklahoma.
    Duncan native Lt. Governor Jari Askins and U.S. Senator Mary Fallin are battling for the state’s top position in the 2010 General Election. Either way the vote goes, one of them will be the first female governor to serve Oklahoma residents.

  • ELECTION 2010 UPDATE: Sykes watching state questions

    Even with his name absent from the ballot, Oklahoma State Senator Anthony Sykes made his way to Duncan to facilitate a late push to vote. After the polls are closed Sykes will make his way to the Republican watch party at Western Property Management at the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and Plato Road to learn the outcome of the election.

  • Askins votes A.M. Breaking News: Lt. Gov. Jari Askins casts her vote

    Around 10 a.m., Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, who is a candidate for Oklahoma governor, arrived at First United Methodist Church in Duncan to cast her ballot for today’s General Election. She was the 163rd person to vote at Precinct No. 3.
    She first stopped in at the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center.
