Toy drive at Tuesday's DHS basketball game

DUNCAN — They Demons won’t just be hoping to fill the basket tonight against Cache, they are also looking to fill the box ... the toy box.

The basketball team will be collecting toys to give to children in need at tonight’s basketball game, dubbing the event “Toys for Tots.”

“We talked on and off abut doing some community work as a team,” Duncan senior basketball player Jack Braught said. “Coach Davison asked me about doing the Toys for Tots thing ... and it seemed like a good idea.”

The team intends to take whatever is donated to the Toy Shop in Duncan, which gives Christmas gifts to children in need around the area.

Fans are being asked to bring toys of any size or value to the game to help with the cause.

“This is what I really like about these kids,” Davison said. “I asked if they would like to do this and they ran with it.”
