DUNCAN —
Whether it’s on the diamond or in the classroom, it’s easy to take notice of what former Duncan softball star Allison Edwards has accomplished since arriving at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week did just that last Sunday, naming Edwards the MCAC Softball Player of the Week.
The Oklahoma Wesleyan University catcher hit .444 last week, including two doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI. In that time, the Eagles won five of its six games.
Edwards’ signature game came in a 10-5 win against Missouri Baptist, where she went 3-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBI.
While thriving on the field, Edwards continues to make time for academics as well. The junior, who is majoring in Biology Pre-Medical, was added to the Dean’s List last semester. The list is reserved for students who maintain a grade point average of 3.5-3.99.
