If there was ever such a thing as a challenge, the Central High Lady Bronchos faced it Thursday night at Wynnewood High School.
Against No. 2 Dale though, the Lady Pirates were just too much to handle on the night.
A 24-6 first quarter run set the tone as Dale improved to 25-1 on the season with a convincing 71-26 victory in the first round of regionals.
“We could have rebounded a little better tonight,” Central High coach Chad Weldon said. “Dale is a very good team and shot the ball well. We just need to come out and play better in our next game.”
Dale was well in control of the game at the half, leading 46-13.
A 26-13 run in the second half was too much for the Lady Bronchos (17-7) to overcome, as they will meet the Lady Comets of Hinton tonight at 6:30 p.m. from Rush Springs High School in a Consolation Bracket game.
Charity Harris led the Lady Bronchos with eight points in the game, followed by Lora-Lynn Loomis with six points. Faith Harris put in five points, with Lacie Phillips with three points. Caitlyn White and Aleia Daniels both scored two points on the night.
