No need to yell such a phrase at Twin Oaks Golf Club on Wednesday. Simply drop another ball and try again.
Twin Oaks will be hosting the Firecracker 1-Person Scramble this Fourth of July, essentially giving players a mulligan on every shot.
“Everybody gets two shots on every hole,” said Twin Oaks’ Neil McCarley.
The unique format is drawing buzz, with more than 20 players already having signed up.
“(The format) gets switched around every year,” McCarley said. “People are excited about it.”
The cost is $20 for Twin Oaks members and $45 for non-members. The scramble is slated to go off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
“We would like to have 30 to 35 people signed up,” McCarley said. “Depending on the number of entries we have, we’ll play in either three- or four-man groups.”
With two tries on every tee, every approach and every putt, scores will likely be low at the par-71 course.
“You’ll see some 7- and 8-unders probably,” McCarley said.

The tournament will include a field of 256 golfers, making up 128 teams. -
