VALLEY VIEW —  

Curtis Allen Howell Sr. 54, of Valley View went to be with the Lord Friday, March 1, 2013, at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after a brief illness.
Funeral services for Curtis will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Chapel. Burial will follow in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Miltary Honors under direction of the Geo.J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.
Curtis was born on Dec. 15, 1958, in Liberty, Ky., to Alvin and Grace Belden Howell. Curtis retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service, and received many service medals and commenations during his service. He also was employed by Acme Trucking Company.
Curtis is survived by his family and friends: Jennifer Howell, Billy Gray, Trenton and Trevor Cusumano, Dawn and Kenny Mayes, Trey and Amber Mayes, Kagan and Karson Mayes, Jorden Mayes, Addyson Mayes, Logan Mayes, Gail Bray, David Martin, Mitzi Martin Tessa Reynolds, Gerry Steidham and Nancy Hawes, Kayla Phelps, P J  and Makayla Voelkel, Devin Whetzel, Taylor Boaz, Mikey Taylor, Shelby Ward, and the employees of Acme Trucking Co.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Curtis Howell Jr.
