OKLAHOMA CITY —

Nelson Herman Barr, 75, passed away in Oklahoma City, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel.

Nelson was born Dec. 13, 1936, at Wauseon, Ohio, to Herman Nelson Barr and Margurite Julia (Wendt) Barr.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On April 20, 1988, he and Jane Childs were united in marriage at Fort Bend County, Texas.

She preceded him in death Jan. 6, 2009.

Nelson worked several years as a security guard and actively supported many organizations in the community such as the Masons in Oklahoma and Texas, the VFW, DAV, VVA-Lawton and American Legion.

Survivors include one son, David C. Barr of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Orville Charles Barr of Livermore, Calif.; and sister, Norma J. Dohr of Onaway, Mich..

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Masonic-St Jude Children’s Hospital.

    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Jandaczek officiating. Interment will be at Duncan Cemetery, arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral.

    Curtis Franklin Sherman was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Rock Creek, Oklahoma, to Carl Franklin and Ruby Mae Sutton Sherman. He defeated a long battle with cancer when he entered the gates of Heaven on May 19, 2013. 
    Curtis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy earning the rank of Electrician II Class. He served during the Korean War from 1951-55 on the US Battleship St. Paul.

    Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday, May 23 in the Duncan Cemetery with Pastor Jackson officiating.

    Thomas C. “T.C.” Hill peacefully passed from this life on Friday, May 17, 2013, surrounded by his family. A graveside funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Fairlawn Cemetery with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday. The family will be receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday.
