Charles Wade ‘Charlie’ Brown

COMANCHE — Charles Wade “Charlie” Brown, a lifelong resident of Comanche passed away Friday evening, Jan. 4, 2013, at Duncan Regional Hospital. He was 74 years old. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating.

Charlie was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Duncan to George B. and Marie (Peck) Brown. He was a 1956 graduate of Comanche High School. Charlie and Betty Sue Morris were united in marriage on July 25, 1959, at Comanche. He was active in the Comanche Round Up Club for many years. He loved rodeos and watching John Wayne movies. He also enjoyed traveling to the Rocky Mountains with his family. More than anything else Charlie loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Betty Sue, of the home; four children: Robin Myers, Comanche; Jennifer Weast, Oklahoma City; Joey Brown and Michael “Howie” Howarth, Loma Linda, MO; and Rusty and Chasidy Brown, Comanche; one brother, George P. “Ranger” Brown, Comanche; six grandchildren: Casey Myers and wife Lindsey, Washington; Bo Weast, Oklahoma City, Jay Weast, Comanche; McKenzie Brown, Yukon, Lauren Brown, Yukon; and Jackson Smith, Comanche; two great grandchildren: Madisson and Jace Myers; and many other relatives and friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law, Kenny Weast.

Melva Sue Blake, of Comanche, peacefully passed away Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2013, at Fort Worth, Texas. She was 71 years old.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from a.m. to service time Thursday.

Troy was born May 10, 1951, in Duncan, to Troy E. and Jeanette Rose Fowler Wilson. Troy has lived in Edmond, for the last nine years. He was a Navy Veteran and a hydraulic mechanic working on commercial equipment. Troy loved his family and fishing.

Homer Gene Brown was born July 21, 1934, in Jefferson County to Weldon and Claudia Phelps Brown. He passed away on June 15, 2013, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 78.
He was a 1952 graduate of Waurika High School. He and Charlene Snider married May 31, 1952, in Waurika.
