TEMPLE —
Bertha Lee Green Monroe was born to James Monroe and Mary Etta Jackson Green on Aug. 19, 1917, in Marlow, and departed this life in Temple, on Nov. 20, 2012, at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at First Baptist Church, Temple with the Rev. Jay Driskill officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

Bertha grew up in Stephens and Cotton counties. She married LeeRoy Monroe on Dec. 15, 1935, and they made their home in the communities of Walters and Temple. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 16 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near the Red River.
She has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1960, where she was active with WMU, GA’s, taught Sunday school and worked in the kitchen. Bertha was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, cooking and doing puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeeRoy; a brother, Monroe Green; a sister, Dorotha McClendon; and also an infant sister.
Survivors include two sons: Jim Monroe and wife Sandy of Houston, Texas, and Tom Monroe of Duncan; a daughter, Joy Ann Glenn and husband Richard of Temple; a brother, Jerl Green and wife Velda of Marlow; eight grandchildren and spouses: Vicki and Allen Scoggin, Mike and Michelle Monroe, Brent and Carolyn Davis, Stacey and Rick D’Antoni, Kevin and Syvonna Davis, Randy and Cyndi Monroe, Tim and Tiff Glenn, and Phillip Glenn; 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Melva Sue Blake
Melva Sue Blake, of Comanche, peacefully passed away Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2013, at Fort Worth, Texas. She was 71 years old.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from a.m. to service time Thursday. -

Troy Glenn Wilson passed away June 16, 2013, in the VA hospital, at the age of 62.
Troy was born May 10, 1951, in Duncan, to Troy E. and Jeanette Rose Fowler Wilson. Troy has lived in Edmond, for the last nine years. He was a Navy Veteran and a hydraulic mechanic working on commercial equipment. Troy loved his family and fishing. -
Homer Gene Brown
Homer Gene Brown was born July 21, 1934, in Jefferson County to Weldon and Claudia Phelps Brown. He passed away on June 15, 2013, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 78.
He was a 1952 graduate of Waurika High School. He and Charlene Snider married May 31, 1952, in Waurika. -
