Funeral services for Mary Louise Hartman, 88, Sterling, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, in the First Baptist Church of Sterling.
Mrs. Hartman died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Fort Sill.
Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1923 in Loco to Chester Joseph and Effie Pearl (Haston) Watson. After high school she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in education. She taught in Loco for 12 years. She married Glenn L. “Pete” Hartman on June 4, 1955 in Duncan. He died July 14, 1984. She then taught second grade at Sterling for 22 years. Often her students would visit her at her home. She was a member of the Cross Trails Cowboy Church. She had previously taught Sunday School. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Robert Bohn of Sterling; a son and daughter in law, Lynn and Susan Hartman; six grandchildren, Kellie Bohn, Branden Bohn, Chance Bohn, Nicole Bohn, Joey Hartman and Jessica Hartman; a brother, C.J. Watson, Edmond; two sisters, Adell Chance, Houston and Betty Lois Holden, Sand Springs; special companion, Anne Matthews; her nurses, Francine and Kristin; like a grandson, J.B. McDonald; and a special friend, Leandra McDonald.
Her husband, parents and a sister, Arna Fae Eaton preceded her in death.

Curtis Franklin Sherman was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Rock Creek, Oklahoma, to Carl Franklin and Ruby Mae Sutton Sherman. He defeated a long battle with cancer when he entered the gates of Heaven on May 19, 2013.Curtis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy earning the rank of Electrician II Class. He served during the Korean War from 1951-55 on the US Battleship St. Paul. -
