DUNCAN — May 12, 1935 — Oct. 4, 2012

Jerry Ray Guyton, 77, longtime resident of Duncan, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Marlow Manor Nursing Home, Marlow.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Chisholm Trail Church of Christ with Leonard Keele officiating, under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. There is no visitation at the funeral home.

Jerry was born May 12, 1935 at Shamrock, Texas to Charles R. and Lorene (Tenison) Guyton. He graduated from McLean High School and attended West Texas State University. He was employed by Texaco as an engineer, retiring in 1993 and enjoyed golf, bowling and camping. Jerry was a member of Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army.

He married Betty Ann Russell on July 28, 1961 and to this union brought two daughters.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home, two daughters, Julie Gripp and husband Gordon of Houston, Texas and Angie Kyle of Duncan, four grandchildren: Lindsay Wainford and husband Michael, Tiffany Peintner and husband Skyler, Ethan Kyle and Gavin Gripp and one great-grandchild: Khloe Peintner.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a grandmother, Farrar L. Guyton and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.W. “Cotton” and Loretta Russell.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to: Ross Health Care and Hospice.
