Orba Lee Carpenter

DUNCAN — Orba Lee Carpenter, 93, of Duncan, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in Duncan.  

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Lawrence Gresham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Orba was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Fox, the son of Virgil and Ola Jane Webb Carpenter. He married Louvine Savage Feb. 8, 1943 in Duncan. She preceded him in death March 2, 1994. He worked in the oil field for Nichols Oil Company, and later retired from Mack Oil Company.

He is survived by one son, Lynn Carpenter of Duncan; one daughter, Reba Poston and husband Phillip Swanson of Comanche; one sister, Eva Mae Drew of Kansas; six grandchildren, Jodi Stanton, Jami Smith, Candi Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, DeWayne Poston, and Jeremy Poston; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Orba was preceded in death by his wife Louvine, his parents, two sons, Eldon and Johnny Carpenter, one granddaughter, Jacy Poston; and two brothers, Arnold and Jimmy Pat Carpenter.
