WICHITA FALLS, Texas —



Noel Raye James, 83, of Wichita Falls, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.

 Funeral service will be at 1 .pm. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Grady Cemetery in Grady. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Lura (Gattenby) and Elmer James, Noel was born June 30, 1929, in Seminole, Okla. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic for many years prior to his retirement. Noel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved cooking and gardening, but most of all, he loved spending time surrounded by his family.

Noel was also preceded in death by his sister, Lola Faye Perteet, his brother, Floyd James; his daughter, Judy Solomon and two grandchildren, Adrienne and Jonathan. He is survived by his wife, Cleo James; son, Cecil James Rotz and wife, Pamela; daughter, Connie James Eakin and husband, Bob, all of Wichita Falls; sons, Jerry Solomon, Danny Guy Solomon and Ricky Solomon; daughter, Connie Solomon, all of East Texas; grandchildren, Scott Rotz, Melissa Honeycutt and husband, Jason, Amber Ezzell and husband, James, Meradith Brammer, Morgan Rhine and husband, Lance, Megan Whidner and husband, Chris, Jason Eakin, David Eakin and wife, Angie, Jacob Eakin, Brandi, Shannon, Danny “Little D,” Amber and Dustin; numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Cindy James; brother-in-law, Lloyd Perteet, both of McAlester, Okla.

The family received friends and family Sunday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com.
