DUNCAN — April 5, 1921 — Oct. 10, 2012

MARLOW — Evon Pauline Price, 91, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 in Marlow.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Evon was born Tuesday, April 5, 1921 in Lincoln, Ark., to John Herman and Eula Teed (Choate) Whiteley. Evon graduated from Morrow High School in Arkansas in 1939 and had lived in Marlow since 1949. Evon married Kenneth A. Price on Oct. 18, 1940 in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1997. Evon and Kenneth owned and operated Food Town and Warehouse Foods for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and traveling and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Evon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow where she taught Beginners and was in the same ladies class at Sunday School for 60 years.

Survivors include, daughters, Karron Melody Thompson and Marva Gail Ratliff and husband Darrel, both of Marlow; grandchildren, Trent Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Libby Warren and Lacy Burch; great-grandchildren, Ty Thompson, Josh Strutton, Nick Warren, Nate Warren, Isaac Warren, Isaiah Warren, Lilly Thompson and Cole Thompson; sister, Loamma Hall of Grove; sisters-in-law, Katie Whiteley of Westville, and Maxine VanDyke of Comanche.

Evon was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Wayne Whiteley and Larry Whiteley.

Pallbearers will be Trent Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Ty Thompson, Brent Warren, Nick Warren and Nate Warren.

Memorial contributions may be made in Evon’s name to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
