C.J. Anderson

Sept. 26, 1930 — Feb. 27, 2013

TERRAL —  Funeral service for C.J. Anderson 82, long time resident of Terral, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, at the First Baptist Church, Terral, with pastor Mark Kunkel and the Rev. Charles Parker officiating.

Visitation and viewing is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, March 4, at First Baptist Church in Terral prior to service.

Mr. Anderson died Feb. 27, 2013, in Lawton.

Burial will be in the Terral Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Lawton.

Gathering for family and friends will be at the Terral Community Center following interment.

Clyde Jr. (C.J.) Anderson was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Scroggins, Texas, to Clyde and Blondell Anderson.

C.J. was a lifelong resident of Terral graduating from Terral High School in 1948, and then attending Central State University in Edmond.

On Sept. 21, 1951, C.J. married Georgianna Davis in Terral. For more than 62 years, C.J. and Georgianna made their home in Terral.

Mr. Anderson was active in the Terral Lions Club, Terral Watermelon Jubilee Committee, was a Master Mason and a supporter of both the Terral and Ryan FFA organizations. An ordained deacon of the Terral First Baptist Church, he valued his church, faith and family above all.

C.J. worked for Halliburton and Grigsby-Cobb trucking before entering into a business partnership and starting Anderson-Davis Propane Co. in 1958. In 1962, C.J. became the sole owner and for the next 41 years owned and operated C.J. Anderson Propane serving Jefferson, Cotton and Grady counties in southern Oklahoma, and in the North Texas area. C.J. retired in 2003 to enjoy his farm, cattle, gardening, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Georgianna of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Phil and Tonja Anderson of Lawton, Randy and Dana Anderson of Duncan and Kay Anderson of Lawton; five grandchildren and their spouses; Michael Shawn and Christi Anderson, Jeffery and Emily Anderson, Clay and Allison Anderson, Amanda Anderson and Nathan Harvey, all of Lawton, and Fisher Anderson of Duncan; three step-grandchildren and their spouses: Tabitha and Jon McKinnis, Dustin and Priscilla Terrell, all of Union City, Tenn., and Justin Blanton of Lawton; seven great-grandchildren: Carter James Anderson, Cooper Murray Anderson, Allie Kate Anderson, Paisley Kay Anderson, Emmy Mae Anderson, Caleb Jeffery Anderson and future great-granddaughter due in June; seven step-great-grandchildren: Drake Alan Terrell, Thomas Ray Terrell, Maddie Helen Terrell, Blair Brooks McKinnis and Addy Kate McKinnis, all of Union City, Kaylaine and Haylee Blanton of Lawton. Also survived by a sister and husband: Pat and Leon Wright of Decatur, Texas; two brothers and their spouses: Kenneth and Nancy Anderson of Bedford, Texas, Don and Patricia Anderson of Wichita Falls, Texas; a sister-in-law, Peggy Thomas; a brother-in-law and spouse: Phil and Glenda Davis of Bowie, Texas; niece, Karen Gunter of Terral; and a number of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family visitation was held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Lawton.
