LAWTON — Feb. 3, 1941 — June 14, 2012

Funeral service for Arleene T. Talley, 71, Lawton, will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Talley died Thursday at her residence.

Burial will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Mrs. Talley was born Feb. 3, 1941 in Lahaina on the island of Maui, Hawaii, to Ayato and Tsure (Takahashi) Ichimura. She grew up in Hawaii and became a registered nurse graduating nursing school from Queens Hospital in Hawaii.  She married Joe L. Talley on Dec. 8, 1961 at Schofield Barracks on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii.

Mrs. Talley had been a Lawton resident for many years and had worked as a nurse for Southwestern Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.  She was a porcelain painter and belonged to several organizations for porcelain painters and she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a son and daughter in law, Frank and Anita Talley, Duncan; a grandson, Tyler Talley, Duncan; a brother, Douglas Ichimura, Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Mary Ann Nishi, San Antonio,  Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and a sister preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Library Fund at the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1409, Lawton, 73502.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
