DUNCAN — MARLOW — Howard Junior Walden, 71, of Marlow passed away peacefully Feb. 5, 2013, at Mercy Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City.

The family will be accepting visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 in a private residence at 705 W. Nabor, Marlow. There will be no service.

Howard was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Byers, Texas to the late Ruthie Walters Brasher and the late Hasting Howard Walden. He resided in the Duncan-Marlow area for 52 years.

Howard attended Wichita Falls, Texas schools, then served time in the United States Navy before taking a job at Halliburton, where he retired from after 38 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jettie Beth Walden; daughter, Kim Avens; son, Wayland Walden; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Norma Williamson, Lynette Posey and Brenda Miller.

He was admired and loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.

    Billie Jean (Pollard) Long, 80, of Marlow passed away May 19, 2013, at her home in Marlow.
    A celebration of her life will occur at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the First Baptist Church chapel in Marlow. Chaplain Tracy Wilson and Pastor Joe Ligon will preside. Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

    Curtis Franklin Sherman was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Rock Creek, Oklahoma, to Carl Franklin and Ruby Mae Sutton Sherman. He defeated a long battle with cancer when he entered the gates of Heaven on May 19, 2013. 
    Curtis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy earning the rank of Electrician II Class. He served during the Korean War from 1951-55 on the US Battleship St. Paul.

    Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday, May 23 in the Duncan Cemetery with Pastor Jackson officiating.
