Judy Ann Gazaway

Oct. 13, 1941 — Jan. 15, 2013

DUNCAN — Judy Ann Gazaway, 71, of Brownwood, Texas went to be her Lord Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, at which she was a longtime member.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas.

There will be no visitation with family, but viewing will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood, Texas.

Pallbearers will be her two grandsons, Jeff Ash and Jason Gazaway; Ken Harris, Gerry Kelley, Troy Evans, and Dennis Simpson.

Judy Ann was born to R.C. “Bob” and Jeanette King Wester on Oct.13, 1941, in Albuquerque, N.M.

She married the love of her life Jerry B. Gazaway June 4, 1960, in Las Vegas, N.M. To this incredible loving relationship were born their two children J. Byron and J’Nell Lynn.

Throughout Jerry and Judy’s 52 years of marriage, they lived in numerous communities over the states of New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado, with Pagosa Springs, Colo. (1978-1996) and Brownwood, Texas, (1996 to present) being the two communities in which they spent most of their married lives.

Judy was indeed a rare jewel of a woman. Judy loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. She wanted everyone to know and love God. If Judy knew you, you can be sure that she prayed for you and your relationship with the Lord to be well. She also prayed for your life, marriage, and business to be prosperous and pleasing to the Lord.

We will dearly miss this mighty Proverb 31 woman of God.

Judy was zealously committed to being a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend. Her family was her greatest joy.

She delighted in seeing her family and friends happy. Her favorite way to make them happy was to bake their favorite meals and desserts, and she was excellent at both.

If she became aware of something that anyone needed, she would do her best to meet that need.

Another way that she brought smiles to her family and friends was to send birthday, anniversary, and get-well cards, which were undoubtedly sealed with a heart-felt prayer.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jeanette Wester.

Judy is survived by her husband, Jerry B.; her son J. Byron and his wife, Adela, of San Antonio, Texas; her daughter, J’Nell Ash and her husband, Greg, of Duncan; her granddaughters Brianna Ghosn, Kimberlee Estrada and Bexy Carpenter; her grandsons Jeffrey Ash and Jason Gazaway; and her great-grandsons, Preston and Isaiah Estrada; one sister Beth Hamilton and her husband Stan, of Mineola, Texas and by her nieces, nephews, great-nephews and nieces.
