Martha Jane Dennington

MARLOW — Martha Jane Dennington, 74, of Duncan, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Marlow Manor Nursing Home in Marlow.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in the Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. Burial is under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Martha was born March 17, 1938, in Hominy, to Roy L. and Lillian Owensby Ritchie. She graduated from Panhandle State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a retired teacher, having taught for 12 years in the Guymon School System and 18 years in the Moore School System before retiring. She was a member of the Christian Church and of the Duncan Antique Car Club.

Martha is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob Dennington of the home in Duncan; two sons: Ritchie Dennington and wife Nora of Duncan, and Travis Dennington of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren: Garrett Dennington and wife Tristin, and Jordan McCormick and husband Michael; a great-grandson, Lennox Mccormick.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Duncan Public Library.

    A celebration of her life will occur at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the First Baptist Church chapel in Marlow. Chaplain Tracy Wilson and Pastor Joe Ligon will preside. Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
