DUNCAN —
Glenn H. Clark of Duncan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Bryan Pain officiating. Interment will be at the Duncan Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Graveside military honors will be provided by the Stephens County Honor Guard.
Family visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
Glenn loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and his church, First Baptist Church of Duncan.
He was born in Carnegie, on July 1, 1927, to Emma and Ira (Kissner) Clark.
After graduating from Carnegie High School, he served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1945 in San Diego, Calif..
Glenn met the love of his life, Dorothy Eileen Carr, in Oklahoma City while attending business school. They were married on Oct. 14, 1950, and made their home in Duncan in 1956 to present.
Glenn went on to become successful in the life insurance and financial planning business. His work gave him a great sense of accomplishment by helping others. When not working in his business, Glenn loved to hunt, fish, camp and go boating. He enjoyed introducing people to these sports and building friendships along the way.
In addition, he spent many hours using his talent of carpentry in building furniture and other fine wood pieces.
Glenn served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Duncan for many years. He truly enjoyed singing in the choir in worship to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Glenn and Dorothy were blessed with three children, Stan Clark of Guthrie, and his wife Debbie, Greg Clark of Edmond, and his wife Marty, Sondra Clark Cover of Plano, Texas, and her husband Tim.
Glenn deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and would have loved seeing the four others due in 2013.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Charles. He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, his three children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother Weldon and his wife Faye of Fort Worth, Texas, and his sister, Roberta of North Richland Hills, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Seth Clark, Logan Clark, Brian Bomar, Grant Zeller and Nick Purtle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Lewis, Bob Johnson, Leland Crissman, Ken Klingensmith, Dick Greenwood and the Klingensmith Men’s Sunday school class.
