OKLAHOMA CITY — Betty Sue Murray, of Oklahoma City, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Integris Baptist Medical Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 2 days.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Ray of Hope Church with the Rev. Tony Bailey and the Rev. Mike McCord officiating. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Betty was born March 15, 1946, in Fredrick, to Coral Brown Sr. and Cleo “PeddyCourt” Brown. She was the manager at Coaches Corner and also a wallpaper hanger. She was one of eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Larry Murray of the home; a daughter, Djuana Rowley; a son, Todd Murray; grandchildren: Christen Green, Matthew Lowe, Zachariah Rowley, Bethany Rowley, Christopher Murray, Alex Murray and Nicholas Murray; great-grandchildren: Christopher Green, Lucas Green, Lily Lowe, Daisy Lowe and Landon Lowe. Betty is also survived by seven brother and sisters: Dorothy McCord, Lois Schornick, LaNeva Kendall, Ruth Kitchens, Coral Brown Jr., Jerry Don Brown and Larry Brown.

She was preceded in death by her father, Coral Brown Sr.; mother, Cleo PeddyCourt Brown; granddaughter, Bethany Rowley; brothers-in-law: Bill Kitchens, Reno Kendall and Joe Schornick Sr.; nieces, Terri Ann Case and Connie Schornick.

Pallbearers will be Matt Lowe, Zack Rowley, Alex Murray, Joe Schornick Jr., Ronnie Schornick and Gary Schornick.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Foundation of Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics at www.cureangelmans.org.
