MARLOW —
John Maurice Fisher, 80, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at his home in Marlow.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Marlow, with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
John was born Friday, Aug. 26, 1932, in Marlow, to John Carlos and Dortha D. (Leach) Fisher.
He was born and raised in Marlow where he graduated from high school. John attended Cameron College (now Cameron University) before going on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University). John lived on the family ranch in the Central High area since November of 1955.
On Nov. 6, 1955, John married Joy Janell Brown at his parent’s home in Marlow. She preceded him in death just one short month ago on Jan. 30, 2013.
John was very involved in the things he loved. The list of organizations in which John was active include: the OSU Alumni Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, the National Rifle Association, Texas/Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, Stephens County Livestock Growers Association, American Quarter Horse Association, OSU Animal Science Association, National Cutting Horse Association, Marlow Chamber of Commerce, and the Central High Booster Club. A few of his hobbies were collecting books, old westerns being his favorite, raising Shoemaker Skipper W Quarter Horses, attending OSU athletic events, rodeos and ropings, and spending time with his family. John was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include, son, John D. Fisher and wife Kristi of Geneseo, Ill.; two daughters, LeAnn Fisher Sellers and husband Robby of Marlow; Cindy Lou Maddox of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Saul D. Maddox, Diana Maddox, Stephanie Maddox, Devon Maddox, Jacob Fisher, Hannah Fisher, Moriah Fisher, Ethan Fisher, Terah Fisher and Levi Fisher; 4 great-grandchildren, Maison Maddox, Syles Maddox, Parker Maddox, and Temperance Baish; cousin, Wallace R. Fisher and wife Kitty of Edmond, and his beloved grand dog, Wyatt Earp.
John was also preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Michael Maddox, and sister, Marylea Fisher.
Pallbearers will be: Crag Cobb, Mike Anderson, Jim Pryor, Bill Garrett, Bob Littrell, and Joe Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be: his grandsons, Dr. Jim McGouran, Ken Apple, Ken Layn, Bo Bowden, Monty Branum, and Kooper Branum.

Charles Nathan Turner Sr. was born on June 13, 1979, in Ada, to Harold E. and Tanya G. Garvin Turner. He died on May 13, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 33. Services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Dr. Walter Wilson, officiating.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Bower Cemetery, Bower, with Rev. Stephen Binion and Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating.
The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home. -
