Mary M. Domstead, 84, of Duncan passed into her Savior’s hands on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Marlow.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Duncan Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Mary was born July 29, 1928, in Oilton to Jefferson W. and Lucille (Kinney) Wadley. She married Billy (R.E.) Domstead on Nov. 13, 1947, in Marlow. They were blessed with two children Billy Eugene Domstead on June 21, 1951, and Brenda June Domstead Ward on January 11, 1954. She was a member of First Christian Church and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Mary followed her husband through the oilfield years in Marlow, Duncan, Ardmore and Velma as he worked for Texaco Inc., Bovaird Supply, M & M Supply and Wilson supply. Mary became an author of poetry later in her life and her book “From An Oilfield Brat to a Child of the King” was her most completed work. With honor of Who's Who Among American Women and published in Ideals Magazine.
Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years Billy R.E. Domstead of Marlow; one son Billy Domstead and wife Valerie of Marlow; one daughter June Ward and husband Billy of Duncan; two grandsons, Michael Domstead and wife Sarah of England and Rob Wagner and wife Keri of Broken Arrow; one granddaughter Becky Rinas and husband Nate of Tucson, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren Issac Wagner, Hadley Wagner, Claire Rinas and Evan Rinas.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Okie Belle Baker, two brothers Curtis Wadley and J.W. Wadley and a grandson Jefferson Wesley Wagner.
Mary was a great wife, mother, grandmother and poet. She will be greatly missed.
