DUNCAN —
Earl Franklin Walker, Jr was born on Aug. 15, 1950, in Sour Lake, Texas to Earl Sr. and Dorothy (Strimple) Walker. He died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 62. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.
Viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home, 6210 NW Cache Road, Lawton. Burial will be with military honors.
Earl was raised and attended school in Port Bolivar, Texas. Prior to graduation, he received advance notification that Uncle Sam requested his attention to our country’s current military obligations and he responded shortly after graduation. Earl served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was spared a second tour when the government was informed of his father’s death in the Korean Conflict. After returning to home, he worked in construction and eventually became a much sought after crane operator working in many areas of the U.S. Earl was forced to retire in 2011 due to health issues and had spent the past several months at his home in Duncan. Through the years, Earl enjoyed spending time with his family, bull riding, fishing and animals. He loved children and was generous to a fault. He was preceded in death by his biological parents and a brother, Ronnie Earl Bouse.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Young of the home; two children, Clint Walker and Heather Walker; his stepfather, Earl Ray Bouse and his wife Mary of Port Bolivar, Texas; step children, Brandon Wakeland and Ashlyn Wakeland of Duncan; sisters, Lee Ellen Kahla and husband John of Jasper, Texas, Debbie Comeaux and husband Curtis, and Terry Gaspard and husband Tony, all of Port Bolivar; four brothers, Charles Bouse and wife Johnette of Jasper, Billy Bouse and wife Nancy, Bobby Bouse and wife Peggy, and Albert Bouse and wife Mary Ann, all of Port Bolivar; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Lindsey of Duncan; brothers-in-law, James Wakeland and wife Marcie, and Kenny Wakeland, all of Duncan; his parents-in-law, Ray and Shirley Wakeland, also of Duncan, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
