WAURIKA —
Alma Lula Dean, 88, passed from this life Nov. 27, 2012, in the Westbrook Nursing Home in Waurika.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Nazarene Church in Waurika, with Lynn Plant and Jerry Moore officiating. Visitation was Thursday and also, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with family recieving visitors 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
She was born Nov. 20, 1924, to Sam Morris and Lula (Dickey) Morris in Davidson.
Alma and Merlin Dean were united in marriage in 1943 and to this union 2 daughters and a son were born. She married Leonard Dean Nov. 1, 1983, in Sherman, Texas.
Alma is survived by her husband, Leonard Dean of Waurika; children, Latreta Stout of Waurika; Linda Newman and Vaden Dean, both of Oklahoma City; and David Sanchez which Alma claimed as her own; one brother, Sam Morris of Bakersfield, Calif.; three step-children, Marsha Moore of Duncan, Debbie Harrison of Rush Springs, and Greg Dean of Edmond; six grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Lula Morris, seven sisters, and her sons-in-law Richard Stout and Gary Newman.

Curtis Franklin Sherman
Curtis Franklin Sherman was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Rock Creek, Oklahoma, to Carl Franklin and Ruby Mae Sutton Sherman. He defeated a long battle with cancer when he entered the gates of Heaven on May 19, 2013.Curtis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy earning the rank of Electrician II Class. He served during the Korean War from 1951-55 on the US Battleship St. Paul. -
