MARLOW —
Jane was born on Dec. 18, 1918, in Marlow to Theodore and Bertha Stone and passed from this life on Nov. 22, 2012, in Stillwater. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Marlow Cemetery.
Jane had two sisters, Helen Jones and Sue Hall of Marlow, and one brother, Wirt Stone of Rush Springs, all of whom preceded her in death. Jane lived in Marlow her entire life until December of 2007. It was then that she moved to Grace Living Center in Stillwater to be closer to family.
Jane was married to Charles Arrington in 1944 and together they shared more than 50 years of marriage before Charles’ death in 1994.
Jane is survived by her two sons and their families, John and Patti Arrington of Meeker, Colo., Bill and Kelly Arrington of Stillwater, two grandsons, Joseph Arrington and his wife Heather of San Antonio, Texas and Matt Arrington, of Stillwater, as well as one granddaughter, Audra Jones and her husband Torrey of Austin, Texas. Jane is also survived by her three great grandchildren Reece, Ryan, and Anthony.
Jane spent her entire working career at the First National Bank in Marlow. It was from there that she retired as vice president and head cashier. During her retirement years, Jane enjoyed traveling with Charles in their RV and working in her garden and yard. Jane loved her family and especially her grandchildren and any time spent with them was time spent in joy. She was a committed member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow for all the years of her life until health problems prohibited her from continuing to serve. Jane enjoyed studying the Bible, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school classes and working with children and youth. Jane cherished her time quilting with friends at the church, and sharing long and enjoyable times of faith and friendship.
Jane also volunteered at the Samaritan House outreach ministry in the community and many other outreach areas. Indeed, Jane’s life was filled with a passion for serving her Lord, loving her family and cherishing all that God has blessed her with. Jane touched many lives in her quiet way of living her faith and she will be long missed and always loved by her family and all who would call her friend.
In lieu of flowers, it has been requested that any memorial contributions made in her honor be shared with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow. All donations should be sent to Palmer Marler Funeral Home 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075.
Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.pmcfh.com.
