TERRAL — Janie Lorene Hutto, a lifelong resident of Terral peacefully passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 2012, at Nocona, Texas. She was 90 years old.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Terral Cemetery, with Alton Hutto officiating, under the direction of Terral Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service Sunday.

 Lorene was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Terral to Burt and Alma Zora (Green) Dye. She married C.J. Ashford in 1941. She later married Braddie Hutto in 1962.

Lorene worked as a cook for Terral Schools and also for the Ryan Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Terral Church of Christ.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, raising a garden (vegetables and flowers), playing domino’s, and going to the Senior Citizens Center. She also loved spending time and visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Survivors include two sons: Clyde Jerry Ashford and wife Kay, Mannsville; James Donald Ashford, Comanche; one sister, Katherine Irene Griffin, Nocona, Texas; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Robert Lee Ashford; a grandson, David Wayne Ashford; two brothers: Wayne Carraway and Tom Dye; and three sisters: Lucille Robnett,  Maude Turley and Roberta Blanton.
