Donald Wesley Wright went to be with his Lord on June 10, 2012.  Donald was born on Sept. 10, 1932, to Wesley and Dorothy Wright in Stephens County. He was the seventh of 12 children.

Donald was raised in difficult times and learned the value of hard work early in his childhood. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country in the early 50’s. He was always very proud of his service while stationed in Germany and received both the medal of good conduct and NATO service medal. After the service, he married Glenda “Kate” Scott, on Feb. 5, 1955. Being happily married for 57 years is what he valued as one of his most prized accomplishments and he constantly rejoiced in how lucky he was to find a woman like his wife.

He spent the last year of his life working with Eurest Company where he continued to paint and had made numerous new friends.

He loved his family, his church and enjoyed fishing and watching football and painting houses. He always claimed his main hobby was work.

Don was a Christian and member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan. He was extremely proud of his family. With his wife they raised three wonderful Christian children leaving a legacy and impact on future generations. All three were educated at Oklahoma Christian University and went on to marry Christian spouses, and have enjoyed successful careers including blessing him with 12 grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Glenda; son, Danny and his wife Susan of Houston: son, Steven and his wife Gwen of Edmond: daughter, Lori Pizzitola and husband Jack of Houston, grandchildren, James, Evan, Bryan, Taya, Alaina Wright of Houston. Paul, Andrew and Benjamin Wright of Edmond, Katie, Callie, Maxx and Sammy Pizzitola of Houston.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wesley, mother, Dorothy Wright, sister Vinese Roberson and brothers Chester, Quinton, Richard and Earl.

Donald was one of 12 siblings and is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Jerry & Virginia Wright, Nita Fields (Wright), Martha Sztchko, Bernice Cooley, Goldie Tomlison, Floyd Wright and his sister in law Wilma and Glen Gill. Donald was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews that loved and cared for him including one special niece, Paula Toler, that lived close and looked after him almost daily during his illness.
