Joseph W. Pollard

BELLA VISTA, Ark. —

Joseph W. “Joe” Pollard 96, of Bella Vista, Arkansas formally of Duncan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Bella Vista.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Allen officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Joe was born on Sept. 16, 1916, on the Pollard ranch east of Duncan, Okla. to Noah E. and Rovilla Pollard.

Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter and had many sportsmen “buddies” in the Duncan area. He retired from Halliburton in 1979 after 35 years of services and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Duncan, before moving in 2008, to Bella Vista, Ark.

His loving wife of 65 years, Roberta, passed away in 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Weatherly and husband Homer of Bella Vista, and Robbie Tyler and husband Wendall of Grove, Okla.; two sisters, Ruby Roberts of Moore, and Velma Ketchum of Duncan; a brother Noah Pollard Jr. of Ardmore; three granddaughters, Kimberly Leonard and husband John, Robbin Bond and husband Larry, Kelli Cleary and husband Doug all of Edmond; and one grandson, Joel Tyler and wife Melissa of Duncan; and six great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

    Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from a.m. to service time Thursday.

    Troy was born May 10, 1951, in Duncan, to Troy E. and Jeanette Rose Fowler Wilson. Troy has lived in Edmond, for the last nine years. He was a Navy Veteran and a hydraulic mechanic working on commercial equipment. Troy loved his family and fishing.

    Homer Gene Brown was born July 21, 1934, in Jefferson County to Weldon and Claudia Phelps Brown. He passed away on June 15, 2013, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 78.
    He was a 1952 graduate of Waurika High School. He and Charlene Snider married May 31, 1952, in Waurika.
