Edna Rose Clayburn

Oct. 27, 1942 — Feb. 4, 2013

DUNCAN — Edna Rose Clayburn, 70, of Comanche, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her home in Comanche.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Grace Community Worship Center in Comanche, with pastor Leonard Clayburn and pastor Billy D. Clayburn Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Duncan, under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.

Edna was born Oct. 27, 1942, at Countyline, to John and Vedes Mann Wade. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1961, and married Bill D. Clayburn Sr. on Oct. 26, 1962, in Duncan. She was a homemaker, babysitter for several children and was called “MOM” by many who knew her. She was an active member of the Grace Community Worship Center in Comanche.

Edna is survived by her husband Bill, of the home; a son, Billy D. Clayburn Jr. and wife Juton of Duncan; and a daughter, Lisa Lorene Clayburn of the home; two brothers: Floyd Wade of Duncan, and Joe Wade of Gonzales, La.; three sisters: Betty Bossa, Ann Clayburn and husband Leonard, and Sharon Williams and husband Skip, all of Duncan; two grandchildren: Ted Doolan and April Clayburn-Doolan; and Grandma’s pride and joy, her great-grandson, Easton Thomas Doolan.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J.E. Wade and wife Loretta; a sister-in-law, Glenda Wade; and brothers-in-law: Harold Thompson and Calvin Bossa.

Pallbearers will be Chad Thompson, Carey Field, Wade Williams, James Miller, Ted Doolan and David Morris. Honorary bearers are her great-grandson, Easton Thomas Doolan, and the Deacons Board of Grace Community Worship Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Community Worship Center,  401 Patterson Ave., Comanche, OK 73529.
