MARLOW — Feb. 3, 1937 — June 26, 2012

Gladnes Buster Punneo, 74, of Marlow, passed away Tuesday, June 26, at Marlow Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Parkhurst officiating assisted by the Rev. Harold Metheny. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Buster was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Duncan, to Gladnes Buster and Mammie (Atkin) Punneo. He married Joann Rebecca Grissam on Feb. 9, 1956, at Hollis. He was a plumber for more than 50 years, being self-employed and working with the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. He retired in 1999.

He enjoyed the “Country Living” and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, north of Duncan.

Buster is survived by his wife Joann of the home in Marlow; three children: Rebecca Bearce and husband, Eddie of Marlow; Tim Punneo and wife Susan of Duncan, and Bill Punneo and wife Dovie of Duncan; four sisters: Stella Stewart of Duncan, Mary George of Duncan, Lorene Cole of Duncan and Gladys Williams of Vero Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Christina, Justin, Jason, Micah, Melissa, William and Jessica; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Rose Grissam and Patsy Harris.

Pallberaers will be Alex Johnson, Christina Nowlin, Justin Punneo, Jason Punneo, Micah Bearce and William Punneo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
