DUNCAN — Cherie Kae Burch Covington

Oct. 13, 1956 — Dec. 9, 2012

Cherie Kae Burch Covington, 56, of Duncan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Duncan.

Private memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. There will  be no visitation at the funeral home.

Cherie was born Oct. 13, 1956, in Duncan, the daughter of Silas Frank and Nellie Mae Husband Burch. She was a homemaker and attended the Christian Center Church.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Covington of the home; two daughters: Brandi Anderson of Velma, and Heather Brandt of Comanche; a brother, Ronnie Wayne Thomas and wife Kymber of Muskogee; six grandchildren: Alysa Anderson,  Balee Anderson, Karson Edie, Rylan Poston, Hagan Brandt and Krysten Thomas.

Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Marlee Poston.

MARLOW — Lawrence Edison Call, 81, of Marlow, passed away Sat. Dec 15, 2012 in Duncan. Services are pending with Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Betty Joan Mayes

Oct. 16, 1936 — Dec. 7, 2012

Betty Joan Mayes was born Oct. 16, 1936, to Ernie and Mabel Spann, and died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

Betty married Harold Thompson in 1953, and from that marriage, had two sons: Rex Dean Thompson and Dennis Ray Thompson. She married Robert Harold Mayes on Jan. 30, 1990, in Wichita County, Texas. They were married until his death Dec. 19, 2001.

Betty Joan Mayes was preceded in death by her father, her mother and her brother.

She is survived by two sons: Rex Dean Thompson and wife Rita of Duncan, and Dennis Ray Thompson and wife Martha of Duncan; three grandsons: Christopher Thompson, Dennis Thompson Jr. and Mike Wallace; two great-grandsons: Alex and Austin Thompson; and a great-granddaughter, Hailey Andrews.

Betty loved life and always could find something to laugh about. Betty will be cremated, and her service is pending.
