Judy Sue Mayes

Dec. 5, 1945 — Feb. 7, 2013

MARLOW — Judy Sue Mayes, 67, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, in Duncan.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Glorybound Church in Marlow with Rev. David Woods officiating.

Judy was born Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1945, in Marlow to Marvin and Irene (Stark) McCauley. Judy lived in the Marlow area all of her life and graduated from Marlow High School in 1965.

Judy was the first female, all-state basketball player from Marlow. On June 11, 1965, she married Bobby Mayes in Marlow. Judy had worked as a secretary at Wilco Manufacturing for several years. Judy enjoyed traveling and making jewelry and other craft projects. She loved spending time with her family and her grandkids thought she was the “best Nana” in the world. Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow.

Survivors include, husband, Bobby Mayes of the home; two daughters, Kim Pillow and husband Mark of Marlow and Shelli Shannon and Corey Lowe of McQueeney, Texas;

grandchildren, Sydney Shannon and Garrett Shannon of McQueeney, Texas; four brothers, Earl McCauley and wife Bonnie of Marlow, Gene McCauley of Comanche, Roy McCauley of Marlow, Buck McCauley and wife Pat of Marlow; four sisters, Louann Stiles and husband Rennick of Washington, Hazel Eisenlohr and husband Ike of Marlow, Caroline Whistler of Marlow, Joy Woods and husband David of Marlow; several nieces and nephews; father of her grandchildren, Bobby Shannon.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Long and husband Bruce.
