Celebration of Clyde’s life will begin at noon Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the Gathering Hall of First Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Arnold Nelson Jr. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

He married Sharleen Dillard on April 4, 1958, in Duncan.

Clyde attended Duncan Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1955. He entered the U.S. Army, serving two years and four years in the Reserves. Upon his discharge, he was employed by Halliburton, in Farminton, N.M., for two years, retiring in 1993, with the title of Numerical Control Manufacturing Engineer.

Clyde loved OU football and was a season ticket holder for more than 20 years, missing very few games. He also loved his antique cars, for which he won many awards, restoring three of them. Above the love for his cars were the cherished friendships in both the Duncan and Chickasha Antique Car Clubs.

Clyde was a member of the First Christian Church, Harmony Sunday School Class, Silver Haired Legislature, R&S Coffee Club, Duncan and Chickasha Antique Car clubs, Duncan Masonic Lodge No. 60 and McAlester Consistary.   (They loved camping and jeeping in the snow covered mountains of Colorado.)

Clyde is survived by his wife, Sharleen of the home; his mother, Joyce Johns of Duncan; daughter, Glynis Johns of Duncan; granddaughter, Amanda Majure and husband Cody of Duncan; and one very special great-grandson, Cooper Majure of the home; two sisters, Sue Howard and husband Joe of Hillsboro, Ore., Barbara Rutledge of Buda, Texas; sister-in-law, Gracalee John; nieces, nephews and many friends, including special friend Leonard Villalon.

Pallbearers will be Don Nutt, Harold Smith, Guy Harlow, Sonny Hetherington, Leonard Villalon, Steven Villalon, C.H. Barnes and Bill Cope. Honorary pallbearers are the R&S Coffee Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Relay For Life or Prairie House Foundation.
