Ellen Bernice Pollock

DUNCAN — Aug. 21, 1934 — June 18, 2012

Ellen Bernice Pollock, 77, longtime resident of Duncan passed away on Monday, June 18 at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

The family received friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bernice was born August 21, 1934 near Randlett to Horace D. & Nola (Thornton) Rutledge. She married Bobby D. Pollock on Dec. 17, 1953, here in Duncan. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 51 years, serving in various ministries including the nursery for many years. She is currently a member of New Hope Baptist Church West. She was a 1953 graduate of Duncan High School, worked at the Antique Marketplace, Halliburton Services in the Chemistry Lab and for Stockman Supply as a bookkeeper.

Bernice is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bobby D. Pollock of the home. Three children Jody Pollock of Tulsa, Jerry Pollock & wife Christine of North Bend, Wash, and Carolyn Pollock of Duncan. One sister Jo Allen of Oklahoma City, a granddaughter Kerri M. Strouss and a great-grandson Michael T. Strouss.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Delmer Wayne Rutledge and Billy Rutledge, two sisters Sue Hughes and Charlotte Stewart and a nephew Jim Rutledge.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary bearers will be Dan Williams & the Beacon Sunday School Class at New Hope Baptist Church West.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church West Bldg Fund 200 S. 42nd Duncan, OK 73533.

    Troy was born May 10, 1951, in Duncan, to Troy E. and Jeanette Rose Fowler Wilson. Troy has lived in Edmond, for the last nine years. He was a Navy Veteran and a hydraulic mechanic working on commercial equipment. Troy loved his family and fishing.

    Homer Gene Brown was born July 21, 1934, in Jefferson County to Weldon and Claudia Phelps Brown. He passed away on June 15, 2013, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 78.
    He was a 1952 graduate of Waurika High School. He and Charlene Snider married May 31, 1952, in Waurika.
