DUNCAN —
Arno “Blackie” Henshaw, 97, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. He was born in Connoquenessing, Pa., on July 23, 1915, to Blanche and Clarence Henshaw.
His family later moved to Tulsa, where he was raised and graduated High School. He attended Oklahoma AandM, in Stillwater and obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. Upon graduation, he quickly went to work for Lucy Oil Company out of Oklahoma City.
After working for Lucy for several years he went to work for Halliburton in Duncan, starting in 1940 in the truck shop as a mechanic. In 1947 he moved into the sales department as a sales engineer. In 1951 he returned to the truck shop in Duncan, and in 1959 was made an inspector. In 1961 Blackie went overseas to Iran to help set up a camp in Aga Jara, Iran. Upon his return he was made line foreman in the inspection department in Duncan. Over the next several years he did special blowout assignments in both the North Sea fields and Australia.
He continued to work out of Duncan until he retired in 1977, having 37 years with Halliburton. Upon his retirement he traveled both abroad and in his fifth-wheel around the states.
Blackie was a 60 year Mason, 32nd Degree, out of the Comanche Branch of the organization. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy Henshaw.
He is survived by a son, Dale Henshaw and his wife Jeanette, of Denton, Texas; two daughters, Arneta Kelly and her husband Don, of Duncan, and Arveta Dowdy and her husband Kent, of Summerfield, N.C.; a stepson Walter (Zeke) Zewick and his wife Marty, of Edom, TX; a stepdaughter Francis White of Missouri; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the donor’s choice. Cremation services arranged through Grantham’s Funeral Home.

Charles Nathan Turner Sr. was born on June 13, 1979, in Ada, to Harold E. and Tanya G. Garvin Turner. He died on May 13, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 33. Services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Dr. Walter Wilson, officiating.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Bower Cemetery, Bower, with Rev. Stephen Binion and Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating.
The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home. -
