DUNCAN — PSO will be temporarily shutting down power to the City of Duncan for 20 minutes to an hour in an attempt to bring Marlow power back and bring Duncan power in from it's normal place.

Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said that the City of Duncan has been running on power being brought in from another direction than it normally is, and in an attempt to bring power travel directions back to normal, power will be temporarily shut down to correct the temporary repairs.

"We have to shut it down for them to switch the power around and bring it in from a different area," Ford said. "It's just repairs basically."

Marlow has been without power for 11 days, and this would ultimately not only bring power back to it, but also bring power from where it is normally drawn from to the City of Duncan.

Marlow City Manager Janice Cain said that even though power will be restored to Marlow proper, it will still be a while before citizens will get their power back.

"We're telling people on our Red Alert system that we hope to have power back by Midnight tonight (Sunday)," Cain said. "However, it will still be a couple of days before we can get citizens back up."
