Four bands are set to perform Saturday for the Habitat for Humanity’s “Rockin’ the Roof Fest” fundraiser at Stephens County Fair & Expo Center’s Livestock Pavilion.
The concert begins at 4 p.m., with doors set to open at 3:30.
Heading this year’s concert ticket sales is Kayleigh McDaniel. “This is our second year to do this concert and we believe that this year will be just as good as last year, if not better,” McDaniel said.
With all proceeds going toward the Habitat for Humanity organization, McDaniel believes that this is a great fundraiser.
“We essentially want people to come out and have a good time and know that the Habitat for Humanity is here.”
This year’s concert will feature music from House of Black, 3HB, Point Blank and the Chicken Davis Band.
McDaniel said she is expecting this year’s show to sell just as well as last year.
“Last year went very well and we would like to get at least what we got last year,” McDaniel said. “I think by having more bands than we did last year it will help us raise some more money.”
Along with the concert, Habitat for Humanity will be holding a silent auction throughout the evening.
McDaniel noted that some items that have been donated for the auction have given by local businesses.
“We have a lot of great items that have been donated this year such as hotel stays at the Hampton Inn, a round of golf at Duncan Elks Country Club, a number of purses and a few other miscellaneous items,” McDaniel said. “The people in the community have been so generous with their donations and we could not thank them enough.”
Acting fairgrounds manager Jeannie Bowden said how great it is for the fundraiser to be held in Duncan.
“Habitat for Humanity does such a wonderful job and is such a great organization that we are glad to help them with this fundraiser,” Bowden said.
“What they do for the community and the area even, is such a great thing and we just want to thank them for all that they do.”
