Willeford hired at fair grounds

Commissioners cut costs

DUNCAN — During the routine Monday meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, a full-time employee for the fairgrounds was hired. Kaleb Willeford will fill that role.

“By hiring this one guy, we can cut our costs,” Commissioner Dee Bowen said.

“Over the last several years we have worked inmates from Waurika. By hiring one guy we can cut costs by not having to transport them 100 miles for a round-trip.”

In other action, the board specified a filing period for vacancy on Fair Board’s board of directors. The filing period will be from Monday, Jan. 4, to Friday, Jan. 9. Voting will be Jan. 26.

n The board approved the use of United Contractors for a turn-key single slope shed type structure from the Dec. 7 meeting.

n The board accepted all bids for tires for all the districts.
