A Marlow man entered a blind plea Monday in Stephens County District Court, to charges of lewd acts against a minor under the age of 16.

District Attorney Bret Burns was pleased to hear District Judge Joe Enos agreed with the recommendation that Josh Dennis, 26, serve a lengthy sentence for his crimes against a 3-year-old child.

“He (Dennis) received a 25 year sentence, with 15 to serve and 10 suspended,” Burns said. “I’m happy that Judge Enos went with our recommendation. I felt like it was a fair sentence.”

Dennis was first arrested in March, Burns said. The crime, according to Banner archives, was committed June 2, 2008.

Burns said that the child told her mother about the incident and the mother reported it to the authorities.
