DUNCAN — The Simmons Center will be hosting it’s first ever Fall Family Fun Fest on from 5 p.m. until midnight, Friday, Oct. 30.
Starting the evening off will be outdoor carnival type games and activities. Games will begin at 5 to 8 p.m.. If there is inclement weather games will be hosted inside. The price of tickets will be 50 cents per ticket.
Following the carnival games there will be a haunted house from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission into the haunted house will be $3.00 per person.
Teri Holmes, the Simmons Center Theater Manager, is in charge and looking forward to this years Fall Family Fun Fest events.
“I think having a haunted house is just something that everyone relates to this time of year,” Holmes said. “There has been one in the past, but we haven’t had one in a really long time.”
Also starting at 8 p.m. will be the first showing of three movies throughout the night. Walt Disney’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” will start at 8 p.m. and admission is free. Also showing will be Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” starting at 9:30 p.m. with a $2.00 admission fee. Finally finishing up the night will be “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” showing at midnight with a $5.00 admission fee.
Proceeds from the fun fest will be going toward the community spirit funds. Holmes said that even though the proceeds will be benefiting the community spirit fund, the fun fest is not about making a profit.
“The reason for having this event is so that people in the community will have something to do Friday evening.” Holmes said.
